Fans have spotted a possible sign that Marvel's long-gestating Disney+ series Nova may finally be moving forward, as Michael Waldron — the writer behind Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness — has listed the show as a writing credit on his official Writers Guild of America page. Nova has drifted in and out of development for years, so a credited writer of Waldron's standing attaching himself to the project is being read as a potential breakthrough, though nothing has been officially confirmed by the studio.

The apparent development comes during a strong period for Marvel's television output. The studio began 2026 by releasing all episodes of Wonder Man at once, a show that was renewed for a second season and whose star, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, has just earned an Emmy nomination — Marvel's first non-Guest acting nod since WandaVision and its first acting nomination since 2021. Other recent releases include the second seasons of Daredevil: Born Again and X-Men '97, with VisionQuest due this October; Waldron is also a co-writer on Avengers: Doomsday, which opens on 18 December.
