## Key points

- London may screen the final if England beat Argentina
- The O2 Arena could host up to 20,000 fans
- Plans depend on England reaching the World Cup final

## Summary

London is preparing to stage large public screenings of the World Cup final if England beat Argentina and reach the showpiece match. The plan matters because it would create a major fan event in the capital, giving thousands of supporters a communal place to watch a potentially historic game and reflecting the scale of public interest in England’s progress.

The main venue mentioned is the O2 Arena, where as many as 20,000 fans could attend. The screening would only go ahead if England win their semi-final against Argentina, making the arrangement contingent on that result rather than a confirmed event. The article frames the proposal as part of wider preparations for a possible England appearance in the final and highlights the expected surge of supporters in London.
