Louis Cancelmi has joined the Hulu pilot "Chicks" as a series regular, starring alongside Ellen Pompeo and Jodie Whittaker in a family dramedy from "Good American Family" writer Katie Robbins. The project, produced by 20th Television, follows two estranged half-sisters who turn to increasingly bold cons after inheriting their late father's legacy of petty crime, with Cancelmi playing a funeral home operator drawn into their scheme. It matters as another high-profile addition to Hulu's growing slate of star-led dramedies, pairing an Emmy-winning actress with a "Broadchurch" alumna.

Cancelmi will play Danny McKeever, an old flame of Pompeo's character who runs his family's funeral home and jumps at the chance to join the sisters' criminal partnership. The pilot was developed by Robbins specifically for Pompeo following their collaboration on "Good American Family", with Pompeo and Robbins executive producing alongside Laura Holstein. Cancelmi's recent credits include "Sorry, Baby", "The Penguin" and Martin Scorsese's "What Happens At Night", and he is currently filming "Tommy Karate" with Pete Davidson.
