Her comments come as she marks a milestone in a fast-rising television career: after guest-hosting the fifth season, she took over as full-time host from season six in 2024, has now completed her third season as lead host (season eight), and has earned an Emmy nomination for her work on the reality format. The former "Vanderpump Rules" star, who has also appeared on Broadway in "Chicago" and in NBC's "St. Denis Medical," used the interview to explain the practicalities of shooting the show and how she prepares for each appearance.

Madix revealed that promotional work begins only a couple of weeks before filming, since little of the season's content exists yet, with scripts for challenges sometimes arriving in advance and other times delivered to her live. She described wearing bold, revealing outfits with varied styling for each look, drinking ginger tea and taking vitamins to avoid illness, and picking up minor injuries such as scrapes from snorkeling. She also praised the close-knit, on-site production crew in Fiji, noting that having the post-production team working alongside her in person, rather than remotely, is unusual in television and fosters a family-like atmosphere on set.
