## Summary

Trail Blazers coach Micah Nori endorsed Luka Dončić as the NBA’s leading MVP candidate before Portland faced the Lakers on Friday. Nori said Dončić looked in the best shape he had seen him in and was playing with elite confidence, making the praise notable because it came from an opposing coach.

Dončić entered the game averaging 38.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, eight assists and 1.8 steals, while shooting 49.5% overall and 43.1% from three-point range. He had scored 41 points with nine assists and five rebounds in the Lakers’ 27 October loss to Portland; Nori also agreed with NBA.com’s first MVP ladder, which placed Dončić at the top.
