Lyft has begun offering fully driverless Waymo rides to users in Nashville, marking the first city where Waymo vehicles are available through both the Lyft app and Waymo's own service. The move expands access to autonomous vehicles for everyday ride-hailing customers and reflects the deepening partnership between the two companies as Waymo pushes to scale up its driverless operations beyond its own platform.

Riders can be matched with a Waymo car when booking a Standard, Priority Pickup, Wait & Save or Extra Comfort trip, though both pickup and drop-off must fall within Waymo's central Nashville service area, covering Downtown/Broadway, North Nashville/Germantown, East Nashville, Midtown and South Nashville. There is no extra charge for a Waymo ride, and passengers can opt out entirely or decline individual matches. Lyft said coverage would keep expanding in the coming weeks. Waymo, an Alphabet subsidiary, announced the Lyft partnership in September last year and began testing vehicles in Nashville soon after, gaining approval to run them without a human safety driver in February this year.
