Malaysia-U.K. Rom-Com ‘Finding Mojo’ Unveils Release Dates, Min Lim Details Double Vision’s Global Ambitions: ‘This Is Southeast Asia’s Moment’ (EXCLUSIVE)
The Malaysia-U.K. romantic comedy "Finding Mojo" has confirmed its release schedule, opening nationwide in Malaysia on 23 July, with a Singapore release on 31 July and an Indonesian launch in the works. The film is the first feature from Sympatico, a production label launched by Double Vision with British producer Richard Johns, and it marks the directorial debut of Min Lim, who is also group CEO of the recently rebranded Vision Entertainment Group. The release is positioned as part of a broader ambition to establish Southeast Asia as a source of original stories with global reach, rather than merely a location for foreign productions.
Astro Shaw is handling local distribution, while SC Films International manages sales outside Southeast Asia. The story follows Adi, a dairy company executive sent undercover to retrieve a viral cow named Mojo after a farmer kidnaps it, only for him to fall for the farmer's daughter; the cast is led by Adipati Dolken, Mimi Lana and Wan Hanafi, with a screenplay by Honey Ahmad and Zahir Omar as executive producer. Around 90% of the film was shot in Perlis, drawing crew from six countries, and the company is separately developing the Luke Evans-led series "Emergency" plus a three-series co-production deal with Astro Shaw and the Philippines' ABS-CBN.
