Wrexham are closing in on the permanent signing of Manchester City defender Issa Kabore, alongside French left-back Jacques Ekomie from Angers, as manager Phil Parkinson bolsters his squad ahead of the transfer deadline. Kabore impressed on loan at the Racecourse Ground last season, becoming a key player for the newly promoted Championship side, while Ekomie would strengthen Wrexham's options on the left after injuries have hampered current full-back Liberato Cacace.

Burkina Faso international Kabore, 25, made 32 appearances and provided a league-high eight assists for Wrexham in 2025-26 after joining on loan last September, having never made a senior appearance for City following seven previous loan spells elsewhere. Ekomie, 23, made 25 league starts for Angers last season and had also attracted interest from West Ham and Hamburg. Parkinson has already added Danny Imray, Anthony Patterson and Ben Whiteman this summer, though he has warned there are "no guarantees" of further additions before the 1 September deadline.
