Man in his 80s dies in Wood Green house fire as cause investigated
A man in his 80s died at the scene of a house fire in Wood Green, north London, on Saturday night. The blaze destroyed the entire first floor and half of the roof of a two-storey terraced house, while a woman escaped before firefighters arrived. Police are investigating the cause, which remains unknown.
The London Fire Brigade was called to Granville Road at 10.15pm and brought the fire under control by 11.30pm. The Metropolitan Police said specialist officers were supporting the investigation, while the man’s next of kin had been informed and was receiving support.
