Man ‘killed partner by stabbing her 70 times before turning knife on her daughter’, court hears
A man has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his partner around 70 times in what prosecutors described as a "murderous attack", before also stabbing her daughter when she tried to intervene. Alan Dore, 48, is accused of killing 52-year-old grandmother Samantha Turner at her home in Shepherd's Bush, west London, on 18 August, in an incident prosecutors say took place in a "domestic setting".
Ms Turner's daughter, 32-year-old Keeley Turner, was upstairs when she heard her mother scream and went down to try to stop the attack, during which she was stabbed in the abdomen and back before calling 999. Ms Turner was found fatally injured on her kitchen floor and pronounced dead at the scene, with a post-mortem finding around 70 sharp force injuries; Keeley Turner remains in hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Dore, who lived nearby and was in a relationship with Ms Turner, appeared via video-link from Wandsworth Prison and was remanded into custody, with a plea hearing set for 9 November and a provisional trial due to begin on 17 May next year.
