- The 86-day challenge raised more than £157,881.
- The campaign has helped rescue 145 children.

## Summary

Nathan Maufe, 27, has completed an 86-day, 3,100-mile run across Australia with three friends to raise money for Destiny Rescue, a charity that works against the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children. The team raised more than £157,881, and Maufe said the challenge showed him what he and others could achieve for children they may never meet.

The group ran from Cape York in the north to Wilsons Prom in the south. Maufe described day 22 as the toughest, when heat, pain and fatigue left him emotional; he also said traffic on busy roads posed the greatest danger. The runners slept in a pop-up caravan, and Maufe said the fundraising had already helped rescue 145 children.
