Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

A 63-year-old man reportedly set himself alight in the lobby of Google’s office building on Hudson Street in downtown Manhattan on Friday afternoon. Security staff extinguished the flames and he was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in a stable condition; police established a crime scene outside the building.

Reports say the fire may have originated from the man’s book bag, in which police reportedly found a collapsible baton. Surveillance footage allegedly showed him entering the building at about 2pm, leaving, then returning roughly an hour later before the incident; Google occupies more than 400,000 square feet at the site.
