Manchester City have agreed to loan forward Omar Marmoush to Tottenham Hotspur for the season, with an obligation to sign him permanently next summer for an initial £50m, while also striking a deal to sell midfielder Nico González to Newcastle United for £52m. The moves form part of a significant summer rebuild at City, who are overhauling their squad after losing several key central midfielders and are now expected to turn their attention to a big-money move for Chelsea's Enzo Fernández.

Marmoush, 27, will undergo a medical at Spurs, who have agreed add-ons worth up to £10m, half of which are guaranteed; he is set to sign a four-year deal with a one-year option once the permanent transfer completes, and City owe no sell-on fee to former club Eintracht Frankfurt. He follows Sávio, who joined Spurs this week in a £75m-plus-£10m deal. González's departure would make him City's fourth frontline central midfielder to leave this summer, after Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders, with City so far bringing in Elliott Anderson (£116m), and agreeing deals for Ayyoub Bouaddi (£85.7m) and Allan Elias (£34m), while eyeing a bid for Fernández, valued by Chelsea at £120m.
