Manchester City target Roma’s Manu Koné as Spurs talk over Savinho and Marmoush deal
Manchester City have identified Roma's France international midfielder Manu Koné as a potential signing to bolster Enzo Maresca's midfield options following Rodri's departure to Barcelona. The move would form part of a wider summer overhaul at the club, which has already seen significant midfield turnover through both incoming and outgoing transfers as City reshapes its squad after losing key personnel.
Koné, 25, impressed for France at the World Cup, playing in five of their eight matches with the team winning all four games he started; he would be expected to cost around £50m. City have already signed Elliot Anderson for £116m and are close to landing Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi for £85m, while Rodri left for Barcelona for roughly £65m and Tijjani Reijnders was sold to Al-Qadsiah for about £51m, with Nico González also potentially departing before the window shuts on 1 September. Separately, City are in advanced talks with Tottenham over a £150m double deal to sell Savinho and Omar Marmoush, a move driven partly by Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi's interest, while City are also expected to bid for Chelsea's Enzo Fernández despite valuing him below his £120m asking price.
