Manchester United are looking at Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and Fulham's Sander Berge as potential midfield additions, as Michael Carrick's squad rebuild continues. The move comes after Casemiro's departure and an injury to Manuel Ugarte, whose knee ligament problem could keep him out for a lengthy spell, leaving United keen to add further cover despite having already brought in two midfielders this window.

Camavinga, 23, is said to prefer staying at Real Madrid, though the Spanish club may sell him to accommodate Rodri, and while his release clause stands at €1bn, Real would reportedly consider offers of €50m-€60m (£42m-£51m). Berge, 28, would cost around £40m and brings Premier League experience from spells at Sheffield United, Burnley and Fulham; United had already signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48m and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35m, and are also weighing up Bournemouth's Alex Scott and Roma's Manu Koné.
