Marathon’s limited time Ordnance Heist is a multi-run and map event that nets you a cool gun you can’t keep

Rock Paper Shotgun · 3 hours ago

Bungie has launched a new limited-time event in Marathon called Ordnance Heist, replacing the experimental Vault Breaker PvE mode. Rather than introducing major new mechanics, the event centres on completing multiple runs across different maps to earn a unique explosive weapon, the Firestorm, which players can only use temporarily before it converts into credits.

To obtain the weapon, players must collect UESC Manifests and key templates on Perimeter, complete an objective on Dire Marsh (both day and night versions), and successfully extract to convert templates into Firestorm Locker keys. Three keys are then needed to search for a Firestorm Locker on Perimeter, Dire Marsh or Outpost, competing against other players under the risk of losing everything on death. The Firestorm itself is a six-shot power weapon with a sniper scope and explosive rounds but no resupply once ammo runs out. The event runs from 18th August to 1st September, after which the Firestorm becomes available as a rarer Supply Drop item.
