*Z for Zachariah* is a character-driven post-apocalyptic thriller about three survivors trying to coexist in an isolated valley left habitable after a nuclear disaster. The film focuses less on spectacle and more on loneliness, trust, jealousy and the moral tensions of rebuilding a life with almost no one else left.

Margot Robbie plays Ann Burden, who lives with her dog until she rescues John Loomis, an engineer played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, after he reaches the valley. Their fragile partnership is unsettled by Caleb, a miner portrayed by Chris Pine, whose arrival introduces suspicion and rivalry; despite its small cast, star power and thoughtful premise, the 2015 film received only a limited release and has remained relatively overlooked.
