Mariah Carey is marking the 25th anniversary of her once-derided 2001 album *Glitter* with an expanded reissue, due for release on 30 October via Def Jam and UMe. The album, which flopped critically and commercially on release and became something of an industry punchline, has since undergone a remarkable reappraisal, driven largely by the fan-led #JusticeForGlitter campaign, which helped it reach number one on the iTunes chart in 2018. Carey said she was "devastated" by its initial reception and is grateful to the fans who kept championing it.

The reissue will include a digital deluxe edition featuring 15 bonus tracks drawn from Carey's personal vault, alongside a newly reimagined version of "Didn't Mean to Turn You On" featuring British-Canadian singer Rochelle Jordan, produced by KLSH. Glitter will also return to vinyl for the first time since 2001, with a standard purple two-LP edition and a deluxe pink vinyl version carrying three extra tracks, plus a limited run with signed lithographs and foil numbering.

  • Mariah Carey reissues *Glitter* for its 25th anniversary, out 30 October
  • Deluxe edition adds 15 bonus tracks and a Rochelle Jordan collaboration
  • First vinyl pressing since 2001, in purple and deluxe pink editions
