A Texas high-school history teacher, Holly Schroedter Adams, has been arrested following a year-long investigation into alleged inappropriate relationships with students. The case matters because it concerns alleged abuse of trust by an educator and has prompted criminal charges, although she has not been charged with a sexual offence.

A grand jury indicted Adams, 41, on two counts of providing alcohol to minors and one count of tampering with evidence. Investigators said a student reported seeing a video from Adams’s home showing a bed covered with nude photographs, and deputies later seized four phones, 11 nude photographs and a photo book during a search; Adams allegedly communicated with three baseball-team members on Snapchat. Her mother-in-law said the family learned of the arrest through news reports and was devastated, while police have not specified what evidence was allegedly tampered with.
