## Key points

- Kayce compares Will McCoy’s family troubles with Jamie Dutton’s.
- The callback links *Marshals* to *Yellowstone*.
- Will’s brother plans to use a bomb against bankers.

## Summary

Kayce Dutton invokes his brother Jamie while trying to persuade a runaway to help stop a bombing in *Marshals* Season 2, Episode 5. The reference reconnects the spin-off with *Yellowstone* and uses Jamie’s troubled family history to encourage Will McCoy to do the right thing.

Kayce compares Will, whom his older brother has tormented, with Jamie, who was also treated as the family’s black sheep and bullied by their sister Beth. Will is being pressed for information about a bomb taken by his brother Derrek, who plans to target bankers over the loss of the family’s land. Kayce presents Jamie as having made a life of his own, though the article describes that reassurance as deceptive.
