Marvel Confirms When ‘X-Men ’97’ Seasons 3 and 4 Will Premiere [Exclusive]

Collider · 3 weeks ago

Marvel has confirmed that the acclaimed animated series X-Men '97 will return for two further seasons, with Season 3 set for 2027 and Season 4 following in 2028. The confirmation, given exclusively to Collider by Marvel Studios' Head of TV and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, will reassure fans of the show, which has proven the studio's most popular animated offering in recent years and follows on from the strong reception of Season 1 in 2024 and Season 2 earlier this year.

Winderbaum told Collider that work on Season 4 is already under way, and said he wants new instalments produced "as fast as possible" given his own lifelong attachment to the X-Men franchise. He acknowledged that even a year's wait between seasons "feels too long" for fans, though streaming means older episodes remain readily accessible in the meantime. No decision has yet been made on whether the series will continue beyond its fourth season.
