Marvel Officially Reveals Apocalypse’s Fate After the ‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2 Finale [Exclusive]
Marvel has indicated that Apocalypse is likely to remain a threat in future seasons of X-Men ’97, despite his apparent defeat in the Season 2 finale. Animation chief Brad Winderbaum said the villain has “many plans” and is always seeking to outwit others, suggesting his conflict with the X-Men is not over.
In the finale, Apocalypse kills Magneto in front of Charles Xavier and takes control of Gambit’s body. Rogue uses powers acquired from the Celestials to force Apocalypse out of Gambit, but the victory may have come at the cost of Nightcrawler, her brother Kurt. Marvel has confirmed further seasons for 2027 and 2028.
