Marvel Snap’s new season is a multiversal Wild West and its new cards are kind of overwhelming

Destructoid · 2 hours ago

Marvel Snap has launched a new season, Fractured Frontier, adding a large batch of Wild West-themed variant cards alongside a new game mechanic called Quickdraw. The update marks a significant addition to the collectible card game's already sprawling roster, but its reviewer found the new mechanic considerably more complex to grasp than previous additions, potentially making the season a steep learning curve for players on day one.

The season's centrepiece is a variant of Thanos depicted as a gunslinger who loads "Infinity Shots" instead of Infinity Stones, tied to the new Quickdraw mechanic, which activates a card's effect the first turn it is drawn rather than played from hand as usual. This requires players to build decks around drawing and playing cards in the same turn, benefiting cards linked to card draw such as Quicksilver, Domino, Adam Warlock and Crystal. Thanos alone has six distinct Infinity Shot effects to track, and further shots can only be loaded by triggering Quickdraw on cards already in hand, making for powerful but difficult-to-manage plays. Further details on Quickdraw and Fractured Frontier are available on the official Marvel Snap website.

  • Marvel Snap's new season, Fractured Frontier, adds Wild West-style variant cards.
  • New "Quickdraw" mechanic triggers effects the turn a card is drawn.
