## Key points

- Maryland is raffling free spring tuition to a student who stays through the final whistle.
- The offer comes as the Terrapins sit at 2-5.
- Rival fans may use the promotion to mock Maryland.

## Summary

Maryland is offering a student the chance to win free spring tuition if they stay in the stadium until the end of its Halloween game against Illinois. The promotion aims to keep students attending despite the Terrapins’ poor season, but also highlights how difficult the team may find it to hold their interest.

Maryland has a 2-5 record and is 0-4 in Big Ten play, and recently fired head coach Mike Locksley. The article says the tuition raffle could be worth thousands of dollars, while noting the offer may become material for rival fans to joke about.
