Matt Damon has revealed that a female stunt performer stood in for him during physically demanding action sequences in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey", crediting her with helping create the film's giant-versus-human forced perspective shots. Speaking on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, Damon said he wanted to publicly acknowledge her contribution after audiences praised his own physical transformation into the character of Odysseus, noting that much of the on-screen muscularity is genuinely his but that her work in certain shots deserves recognition too.

Damon explained that during scenes depicting Odysseus's men confronting the giant Laestrygonians, the production used forced-perspective techniques involving extremely tall stuntmen alongside much shorter performers, with a female stunt double standing in for him in some of these shots. He described meeting her for the first time in the catering tent and thanking her personally for her work, praising her physique. This follows earlier comments from Damon on the "New Heights" podcast, in which he said he dropped to 167 pounds through strict diet and training, including cutting out gluten, to achieve a leaner physique for the Nolan-directed film.
