## Key points

- Wednesday and Cambridge drew 1-1 at Hillsborough.
- Burstow scored before Kaikai equalised on the counter.
- Interim boss Hamshaw wanted more from his side.

## Summary

Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 with Cambridge United at Hillsborough in Matt Hamshaw’s first match as interim manager, leaving him frustrated that his side did not take all three points. The result came after Henrik Pedersen’s departure and leaves Wednesday outside the League One play-off places after 12 matches.

Mason Burstow put Wednesday ahead in the second half, but Cambridge equalised through Sullay Kaikai on a counter-attack after goalkeeper Jake Eastwood had made a fine save to deny Burstow a second. Barry Bannan hit the post and Wednesday goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer made several saves; Hamshaw said his team had been naive at times, while recognising the players had been through a difficult few days.
