- He has not confirmed which character he will play.
- *Man of Tomorrow* is scheduled for July 2027.

## Summary

Matthew Lillard has hinted that his role in James Gunn’s Superman sequel, *Man of Tomorrow*, may be an original character or a very obscure figure from DC Comics. He described the part as “a very James Gunn moment” and said fans should not expect to find the character easily in the comics, giving little support to speculation that he will play Barry Allen.

The film is due in cinemas on 9 July 2027, and its first assembly cut has been completed. The story will pair Superman with Lex Luthor against Brainiac, with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult returning and Lars Eidinger joining as Brainiac. Several other DCU cast members are also returning, while Adria Arjona’s role, like Lillard’s, remains undisclosed.
