Matthew Perry Docuseries Set at Netflix With October Release Date
Netflix has confirmed "The One About Matthew Perry," a three-part docuseries chronicling the life and career of the "Friends" star, will premiere on 27 October. The project marks one of the most personal accounts of Perry's life to date, with his sister Mia Perry Bowick serving as its central voice and drawing on previously unreleased family photographs and videos. The series aims to move beyond his best-known role as Chandler Bing to present a fuller picture of the actor, including candid details about his struggles with addiction.
The docuseries is directed by Mary Robertson, known for "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" and "Framing Britney Spears," who also executive produces via her Maxine Productions banner at Sony Pictures Television. Additional executive producers include Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman, alongside co-executive producer Lora Moftah and producer Jessica Call. It remains unconfirmed whether Perry's "Friends" co-stars will feature, though Netflix says the series includes contributions from his close friends and creative collaborators; Perry Bowick said in a statement that she hopes it will give viewers "a deeper appreciation" of who her brother truly was.
