Netflix has commissioned a three-part documentary series about actor Matthew Perry, titled *The One About Matthew Perry*, described as the first in-depth account of the *Friends* star's life told by people who knew him well. The series is directed by Mary Robertson, known for *Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV*, and comes as interest in Perry's legacy continues following his death in 2023.

The documentary is produced by Robertson's Maxine Productions, part of Sony Pictures Television, and features interviews with Perry's sister, Mia Perry Bowick, alongside his lifelong friends and creative collaborators. It aims to combine personal recollections with candid details of his private struggles, including his openness about addiction. Perry died in October 2023, aged 54, after injecting himself with ketamine and drowning in his hot tub.
