## Key points

- Stafford is expected to play against Washington on Sunday.
- Garrett is returning to practice after missing time with a knee issue.
- Garrett’s game status depends on how he responds.

## Summary

Matthew Stafford is expected to be ready for the Los Angeles Rams’ game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, easing concern after he was seen leaving last weekend’s win over the Chargers with ice on his right arm. Myles Garrett’s return is less certain, though his return to practice this week could put him on course to play soon.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport said he had heard nothing to suggest Stafford would miss the game. Garrett, sidelined since Week 1 with a knee issue, had been expected to return the previous week but was not comfortable enough to do so; Rapoport said his availability depends on how he responds to practice.
