McDonaldland Cookies, once a popular McDonald’s Happy Meal item, were discontinued in the United States in the early 2000s. Their disappearance disappointed customers who remembered the small, lemon-flavoured biscuits shaped with characters including Grimace, Ronald McDonald, Birdie and the Hamburglar.

Introduced in 1974 and rolled out nationwide in 1979, the crunchy cookies were made by Keebler and sold in plastic bags or colourful boxes. They were removed from all US restaurants between 2003 and 2004 as McDonald’s added healthier Happy Meal options, although similar versions remain available at some restaurants in Australia and New Zealand. Chocolate chip cookies stayed on the menu, while nostalgia for McDonaldland characters has continued through items such as the 2023 Grimace Shake and limited-edition Adult Happy Meals.
