## Key points

- Markle is no longer in talks for The Gentlemen.
- Sources dispute whether the casting news was leaked for publicity.
- Bela Bajaria’s departure adds uncertainty to the Netflix relationship.

## Summary

Meghan Markle is no longer in talks to appear in the third season of Netflix drama The Gentlemen, according to the article. Royal and entertainment commentators say the departure of Netflix executive Bela Bajaria, who had supported projects involving Markle and Prince Harry, may leave the couple without an influential advocate at the company and add uncertainty to Markle’s reported acting comeback.

People close to Markle allege that news of her possible involvement was leaked to promote the show, while Netflix sources reject the suggestion that the series needed publicity casting. The article also reports that Netflix withdrew its investment in Markle’s As Ever brand, and that the couple’s relationship with the streamer is being questioned. The Gentlemen was renewed for a third season in August; Netflix had not commented to the article’s request.
