## Key points

- Thomas Markle was reportedly arrested by the FBI in Florida.
- Mexican police raided a storage unit linked to him.
- Philippine authorities are also investigating alleged material.

## Summary

New details in the developing case include a reported FBI arrest of Thomas Markle at his care home in Lakeland, Florida, and a Mexican police raid on a storage unit near his former home in Rosarito. The 82-year-old, father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is accused of possessing child sexual abuse material; the allegations have not been proven.

The article says the investigation follows alleged discoveries of material at locations linked to Markle in Mexico and the Philippines. His son reportedly told the FBI about two storage units in Los Angeles, while Philippine police are said to be close to bringing formal charges. Markle was taken from the care home in an ambulance, and the article reports no response from him beyond denying a reporter’s question about being a paedophile.
