Melania Trump has opened applications for volunteers and performers for the White House’s 2026 Christmas celebrations. The appeal continues the annual tradition of involving members of the public in decorating the executive residence and providing entertainment at December holiday open houses.

Applicants from every US state and territory may apply. Decorator volunteers must be at least 18 and apply individually; decorating is scheduled for 23–29 November, while school bands, choirs and other holiday entertainers may apply to perform in December. Applications close at 5pm Eastern Time on 28 August, successful applicants will be notified by 2 October, and volunteers must cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
