## Summary

Melania Trump has met Russian and Ukrainian representatives at the White House after a humanitarian operation in Ukraine’s Kherson region. The meeting follows a temporary ceasefire that enabled the evacuation of several hundred people from Oleshky, and both sides said Trump played a key mediating role in arranging the mission.

Russia was represented by ombudsman Yana Lantratova and envoy Kirill Dmitriev; Ukraine by ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets and parliamentary faction leader Davyd Arakhamia. The pause in fighting lasted several days and was described as the first of its kind since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.
