Melbourne prisoner Orijol Rukaj remains at large 150 days after allegedly escaping while attending his brother’s funeral at Keilor Cemetery on Anzac Day. He was being supervised and was reportedly handcuffed while helping carry the coffin, but disappeared during the service, prompting an ongoing police search.

Rukaj, 47, was held at Marngoneet Correctional Centre and is accused of cocaine trafficking, with alleged links to Albanian organised crime. Police believe he is probably still hiding in Melbourne, particularly around Sunbury or St Albans, although they have not ruled out an overseas escape; he is described as 170cm tall, solidly built, with short brown hair and a southern European accent.
