Deadline · 4 hours ago

MGM+ has expanded the cast of its upcoming series adaptation of "The Magnificent Seven," adding four new series regulars as production continues in Calgary. The show, an exclusive reveal from Deadline, reimagines the classic Western premise for television, exploring the backstories and moral dilemmas of a group of mercenaries hired to defend a peaceful Quaker village from a ruthless land baron's forces.

The new additions are Joshua Close (Wayward, Fargo) as the calculating bounty killer Skelton, Ken Yamamura (The Wolverine, Tetris) as former samurai Kenjiro "Kenji", Michael Rubenfeld (Lucky Number Slevin) as inventor Eli "Wick" Kagan, and Joel Nankervis (Your Fault: London) as young Quaker Jebidah "Jeb" Campbell. They join a previously announced cast led by Matt Dillon, Will Patton, Michael Ealy, Danny Pino, Joanne Froggatt and Amy Forsyth, with the series set in 1880s America and built around themes of honour, sacrifice and the tension between violence and non-violent faith.
