MI London and Welsh Fire eliminated from knockouts
MI London were eliminated from The Hundred despite beating Birmingham Phoenix by two runs, as the margin was far short of the 59-run victory needed to reach the Eliminator on net run-rate. Welsh Fire were also knocked out after losing by six runs to London Spirit, ending both sides’ campaigns in their final group matches.
MI London made 157-6, led by Nicholas Pooran’s 36, before restricting Phoenix to 155-7; Phoenix finished bottom with one win from eight games. Manchester Super Giants and Sunrisers Leeds will contest Friday’s Eliminator, with Trent Rockets already through to Sunday’s Lord’s final, while Fire fell short of 132 despite Jordan Cox’s 44.
