Michael Kiwanuka shares full details of self-produced new album ‘FUDGE’: “It captures a sense of optimism, playfulness and freedom”
Michael Kiwanuka has announced ‘FUDGE’, his fifth album and first self-produced record in 13 years, due for release on 23 October. Made before he suffered a severe stroke caused by a brain haemorrhage and high blood pressure, the album reflects optimism, playfulness and creative freedom while he continues rehabilitation.
The 12-track album was developed alongside 2024’s ‘Small Changes’ and deliberately strips back outside expectations and long-standing collaborations. It includes the seven-minute ‘Love In My Heart’, while Kiwanuka’s live commitments remain on hold indefinitely as he focuses on recovery and hopes eventually to return to touring.
