## Key points

- Experts say a TV segment may have supplied clues about Nancy Guthrie.
- A ransom note mentioned her Apple Watch and a damaged floodlight.
- The abduction remains unsolved, with the motive unclear.

## Summary

A television segment featuring Savannah Guthrie and her mother, Nancy, is being examined as a possible source of information for whoever abducted Nancy, or for someone who later wrote ransom notes. Experts say the broadcast may have introduced a potential offender to Nancy, but the case remains unsolved and no motive has been established.

The segment showed Nancy wearing a white Apple Watch and shared personal details about her life in Tucson. One ransom note referred to the watch’s location and a smashed backyard floodlight, details that may not have been public when the notes were sent; investigators have not publicly identified the sender, and experts say the notes’ authenticity is disputed. They stress that Savannah is not responsible for what happened.
