Actress Michelle Pfeiffer has said she no longer wants to lead films, preferring ensemble television work instead, after starring in two well-received TV projects this year. Speaking at THR x Apple TV's "Leading the Narrative: The Women of Apple TV" event alongside fellow Emmy nominees including Elle Fanning and Rhea Seehorn, she declared: "I never want to star in another movie, I swear to God. I only want to do ensemble pieces." The comment marks a notable shift for an actress whose film career includes Scarface, Batman Returns and Dangerous Liaisons.

Pfeiffer has this year starred in and executive produced both Margo's Got Money Troubles and The Madison, both of which have been renewed for further seasons. In Margo's Got Money Troubles, she plays Shyanne, the flamboyant former Hooters waitress mother of Elle Fanning's character, alongside Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman and showrunner David E. Kelley, her real-life husband. She praised the calibre of recent female-led television performances and cited a Robin Williams quote about kindness as capturing the spirit of the show.
