A customer at SPoT!, a bagel and breakfast shop in Norwood, Massachusetts, has gone viral after being filmed apparently deliberately throwing his food and rubbish onto the floor. Owner Perry Makarios discovered the mess on arriving at work on 28 June and reviewed his CCTV to identify the culprit, later sharing the footage online, where it drew millions of views and widespread anger.

The clip shows a middle-aged man tearing apart his bagel sandwich, dropping pieces on the floor, knocking his food container off the table, and chewing with his mouth open, apparently startling his female companion. Staff recalled the man seemed unhappy while waiting, with his order taking slightly longer than the usual 15 minutes on a busy day. Makarios said he would normally overlook such hostility but chose to expose the behaviour, appealing for anyone who recognised the man to urge him to learn some manners.
