Drummer Mike Joyce and producer Stephen Street have announced an 'In Conversation' UK tour to mark the 40th anniversary of The Smiths' 1986 album 'The Queen Is Dead'. Joined by a special guest host, the pair will share stories, memories and behind-the-scenes insights from that era, alongside audience Q&As, archive footage and memorabilia, giving fans a rare first-hand look at the making of an album widely regarded as one of the band's finest.

The tour runs from autumn into winter 2026, opening at Stockton's Arc Theatre on 1 October and taking in Manchester, Frome, Kidderminster, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh before closing at Kings Place in London on 5 December. Tickets are on general sale now. Street, who engineered 'The Queen Is Dead' and later produced 'Strangeways, Here We Come', also touched on his past work with Morrissey, saying he would be open to collaborating again despite the singer's controversial recent remarks.
