MISS MAY I Announces New Album ‘No Place For Me’, Shares ‘Sanctuary’ Single
American metalcore band Miss May I have announced their new album, "No Place For Me", which will be released on 2 October via Solid State Records, accompanied by the release of a video for the new single "Sanctuary". The record follows 2022's "Curse Of Existence" and marks the group's first full-length as a four-piece following the 2024 departure of founding guitarists B.J. Stead and Justin Aufdemkampe, with Elisha Mullins joining on guitar. Vocalist Levi Benton has described the album as a cathartic, deeply personal record, calling it "everything I've felt for a long time but never had the words for".
The band now comprises Benton, drummer Jerod Boyd, bassist Ryan Neff and Mullins, and the 10-track album includes songs such as "Sanctuary", "Pray For Silence" and "Highbrow Thieves". Benton said the two-year recording process was shaped by the new line-up, prompting the group to experiment with keyboards and "soundscapes" to fill out their sound as a four-piece, while long-time engineer Nick Sampson helped keep the material consistent. The album is being rolled out gradually through multiple singles, following the band's 2024 move to Solid State Records and their ambitious re-recorded 15th-anniversary edition of debut album "Apologies Are For The Weak".
