Mission Of Burma Play Surprise Reunion Set, Roger Clark Miller Announces New Solo Album The Green Man

Boston art-punk pioneers Mission Of Burma made a surprise reunion appearance last week, and founding member Roger Miller has separately announced a new solo album, The Green Man. The band, formed in 1979 and influential through releases such as Signals, Calls And Marches and Vs., first split in 1983 due to Miller's tinnitus before reuniting in the 2000s; they have been largely inactive since their last album in 2012 and last toured in 2016, making these developments notable for long-time fans of the group.

The trio of Miller, Clint Conley and Peter Prescott played a short set at Brighton Music Hall in Massachusetts during a 25th-anniversary show for Fenway Records, performing four classics plus a cover with guest musicians as a tribute to Jeff "Monoman" Conolly of the Lyres, who died on 31 July aged 69. It followed an earlier reunion appearance this year at a benefit show for Conolly. Separately, Miller — releasing music under his full name Roger Clark Miller to avoid confusion with the country singer of the same name — has announced The Green Man, reportedly his first non-instrumental solo album in decades, with the track "I Live In A Forest" shared alongside the tracklist and upcoming tour dates.
