Sharifa Nicole Henderson, a 34-year-old from Missouri, faces federal charges for making death threats against the family of Austin Metcalf, a Texas teenager murdered in April 2025. Henderson allegedly sent threatening messages to the Metcalf family in June 2026 during the trial of Karmelo Anthony, who was convicted of the killing. The case has drawn attention as a flashpoint in racial tensions, as Anthony is Black and Metcalf was white. The charges highlight the continued harassment faced by the victim's grieving family during and after a high-profile murder trial.

According to prosecutors, Henderson sent at least three threatening messages to the Metcalf family on 10 and 11 June, after Anthony's trial concluded on 9 June. Her alleged threats included warnings that she would "strangle" family members, "demolish" them, and "hunt you forever until I kill you". Henderson was arrested on 11 September and transported to Texas for her initial court appearance. The Metcalf family has reportedly received over 100 threats since the trial ended, and Henderson's prior criminal history includes charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, theft and trespassing. Anthony, who stabbed Metcalf at a high school track meet, was sentenced to 35 years in prison, and a judge rejected his motion for a new trial last month.
