UK garage pioneer MJ Cole and producer A.K. Paul have released a new collaborative track, ‘Talk To Us’, via 892 Recordings and Platoon. The release brings together artists from different generations of British electronic music, combining Cole’s garage-rooted approach with Paul’s more unconventional guitar-led production.

Cole said the song emerged from their first session together, using DrumBrute drums, Paul’s guitars, piano and colourful synths, alongside a story from that morning. He described it as garage-adjacent rather than strictly defined by the genre, while Paul said he was honoured to work with an artist who had been part of his musical upbringing in north-west London.
