Austin Aries, the Major League Wrestling Openweight Champion, said he is prepared to “do whatever it takes” to retain his title ahead of a major defence. Aries regained championship gold by defeating Blue Panther at MLW’s Lucha Apocalypto event, which was co-hosted with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre earlier this year. He said he still believes he is performing at a high level and that his current title reign has reinforced his view that unconventional tactics can help secure results.
