A Russian model, 24-year-old Anastasia Kostromitina from Moscow, has gone viral after her influencer mother posted a video highlighting her striking resemblance to Norway and Manchester City footballer Erling Haaland. The clip, in which Anastasia mimics the striker's gestures and poses, amassed more than four million views and drew wide attention ahead of a World Cup quarter-final.

Anastasia said she initially denied the likeness but eventually came round to it, admitting she went through "all the stages of denial". Though not a keen football fan, she watches matches with her boyfriend and, along with her 56-year-old mother Mariya, is backing Haaland and Norway to beat England in Saturday's quarter-final. Mariya praised the forward — who has scored seven goals in four appearances — as "an absolute powerhouse".
