Modest Mouse guitarist Simon O'Connor will not join the band’s forthcoming tour dates after a 17-year-old fan alleged that he sent her inappropriate messages. The band did not reference the allegations in its announcement, but confirmed that O'Connor would be replaced by Les Savy Fav guitarist Seth Jabour.

The allegations were shared on Reddit with screenshots, and O'Connor responded there by saying he had mistaken the teenager’s Instagram account for somebody else’s. O'Connor joined Modest Mouse in 2021 and contributed to their new album, An Eraser And A Maze; the tour supporting it is due to resume in Ojai, California, on 4 August.
